BMW update

Postby willis » Tue Sep 22, 2009 10:44 am

Ok so as you guys and gals allready know i now have a BMW F800S

Mostly got it cos they sound so cool.

New project is coming along nicely bar the fact i have had to purchase a complete new set of tools :blackeye: Star bolts everywhere.

I have tricked myself up a little thumb idle controll under the left bar, took hours of thinking, cutting glueing & filing. I ended up using two washers, a lever off a mower and a YZ250 clutch perch  The BMW has a extra little cable perch on the throttle for something they use in Europe so its going to be easy to rig up.

Jar Has made a 12 bar and is currently making a crash cage and a trick little undertray to cover the plastic undertail fueltank.

I have ordered a new plastic fairing stay and fixed all the plastics with Qbond,, ripped the back of the light off (broken) and painted the back of the glass black.

Im pissing off all the bulky (expensive) BMW bar components and ill be running a bermbo clutch master for rear brake, ballards ezy pull clutch, custom idle up and on the right, Honda throttle grip CBR1000, Honda start stop. Plus a dead mans too

Im looking at putting a CBR1000 radiator in it for extra cooling ( if i can fit it) and i can get a CBR1000 Front end but i think its going to be to short and fitting different forks this bike could be trouble because the headstock is so tall. The standard forks should be cool, one needs straightening but thats cheap and ill put spacers and heavier oil in them.

Sprockets are ordered but im going to have to get a chunk of the swing arm cut out and reinforced, the single sided swing arm is too snug on the belt drive, Ill do sammos Dodgey weld mod to the rear brake master  and ill be on my way
