Postby tukn » Tue May 03, 2005 6:43 pm

ok, does anyone have any hot tips on changing road bike tyres??

i've got a few old tyres i want to practice some stuff on, but i'll be f**ked if i can swap the tyres...

what do you guys do at shows and stuff chewing through mega tyres?

lots of spare rims? or someone have a tyre changing machine jobbie?

yeah, but the bike shop wants to charge $15 for every change, and i have to tow it there every time i blow a rear tyre.

what do you use to break the bead? i tried tyre levers on their own, but no chance.

I have a slidehammer bead breaker that works pretty good.
After that you just got to make sure you push the tyre right into the center of the rim opposite to where you are levering , practice helps a lot.
I have now fitted front and rear tyres to my rims WITHOUT ANY TOOLS!!!!
